COP8 results from Brasil - The 'Global Biodiversity Outlook 2' report was released

The 8th Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity met in Curitiba, Bazil, 20-31 March.

During the conference a major report was launched. The 'Global Biodiversity Outlook 2' (GBO2) report contains an overview of the status of the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). It focusses on progress towards th 2010 Biodiversity Target and on its contribution to the achievement of the Millenium Development Goals. The report analyses according to the CBD Focal areas and uses the CBD Headline indicators.

At COP8 many interesting side-events took place. One of them concerned the SEBI2010 indicator project on streamlining European 2010 Biodiversity Indicators.
