SBSTTA 11 now started in Montreal

SBSTTA (The Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice to the Convention on Biological Diversity) has now started its 11th meeting. It is being held in Montreal during week 48. The agenda and all meeting documents can be found at: http://www.cbd.int/sbstta/ .

SBSTTA meetings are organised by the Convention Secretariat. The chair for this and for SBSTTA 12 (2006) is Mr. Christian Prip from the Danish Ministry for the Environment.

The next Conference of the Parties (COP8) will be held in Brazil 20-31 March 2006. Information may be found at:http://www.cbd.int/convention/cops.shtml .

During SBSTTA 11 around 30 side-events will present a wide variety of interesting issues. The regional development of Clearing House Mechanisms in Europe will be part of one of the first side-events.
