IPCB - The International Press Centre Biodiversity Research news portal was launched on 14 November 2005 in Brussels

Under the EU 6th framework programme for research the  International Press Centre Biodiversity Research "IPCB" was launched in Brussels on 14th November. The occassion was the conference 'Communicating European Research'. The IPCB can be found at http://www.biodiversityresearch.net .

The main goal of the IPCB press portal is to communicate news on biodiversity research to the international press community.

However, it is also foreseen to turn into an information source for biodiversity related research.

The IPCB is an initiative under the NEtwork of Excellence of the  ALTER-Net. The Communication service is managed via the Belgian Institute for Nature Conservation. More information on http://www.alter-net.info
