Story Marine biodiversity: does conservation matter?

More than a thousand marine biologists from all over the world met in Valencia  from 11 to 15 November, to discuss their scientific findings.Current and future threats to marine biodiversity were discussed and the Valencia declaration was agreed.

The World Conference on Marine Biodiversity discussed and reviewed the current understanding of marine biodiversity, its role in marine ecosystem functioning and its socio-economic context.
