Biodiversity controlled vocabulary
The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity has made available a CBD controlled vocabulary (glossary). The vocabulary is a list of terms to be used for web pages on the Convention's website as descriptors. It is at the same time also aimed at a wider use, such as by clearing-house mechanism (CHM) national focal points for the national CHM websites. The vocabulary terms should function as keywords to facilitate and standardize web searches. The terms are taken from official Convention documents, UNEP's ENVOC and the FAO's AGROVOC. Terms can be submitted for inclusion. They must be from official documents prepared under the Convention and/or other published controlled vocabularies or thesauri. The CBD controlled vocabulary is available on the CBD website at: http://www.biodiv.org/doc/cbd-voc.aspx.
